Thunderbird Motel

The front office staff very friendly. Great location, as you can walk easily to a couple of different eating locations. The place was clean, simple, no frills, kinda place. They have a small frig/freezer, coffee pot, and hair drier. They do allow dogs with a nighly fee. This site is located in the original downtown of Elko. Note for travelers with dog: there isn't a place on site or nearby with grass/truff/dirt for dogs to do their business, all pavement. However, there is a couple dog parks within about 5 minutes drive in the new part of Elko. I found those dog parks very nice, except some owners didn't cleanup after their dog (grrrr). I would definitely stay at the Thunderbird again. Tks to the staff!

The Thunderbird is an older motel, in the process of renovation. The owner is very accommodating. The older furniture in the room was tasteful and in good condition. The room was set up as a double queen but one of the beds was removed giving a feeling. Comfortable and roomy breakfast area in the motel lobby.

Good, clean, 2 star hotel. Pool looked very clean. Air conditioning in room worked well and the fan masked noise from adjacent rooms. Breakfast included cereal and a waffle maker, as well as orange juice and milk. Good location on the main street in Elko. Just a few blocks from the visitor center, about a block from the court house.

Plenty of free parking, although the hotel is dated it is exceptionally clean. The beds were firm enough and the TV (for my kids) was huge. I try to travel on the cheaper side of things and this was priced very competitively. I checked in late - stopped at battle mountain owl club for dinner (recommend the jalapeño soup) but even though it was late during a holiday travel week - I was greeted by a kind employee who was patient with my kids.

Great location downtown with many restaurant options within blocks. Exceptionally clean room and very comfortable, surprisingly quiet. All the basics, and extremely good value.
